The events that take like 20-40 minutes, you can win those by 2-5 minutes. The only place that the rubberbanding didn't seem to apply where the long distance hyper car events. One little mistake, and the AI will blast right past you. I was running a 135+ car and only winning by 2 to 3 seconds. The first race has a recommended car rating of 90 on normal difficulty.
The crew 2 rating series#
I grinded the first race of the Rally Car series to get more parts and up my car's rating.

However, the overall experience with the rubberbanding greatly benefits the AI. There were a few races that I screwed up pretty badly and the rubberbanding allowed me to catch back up with the pack. Now the rubberbanding is both a blessing and a curse. The reason the AI will overtake you is due to the rubberbanding. You have to run a near perfect race or the AI will overtake you. Basically, there is little to no room for error in this game. It will take so much speed and momentum away from you, it's practically a fatal mistake. If you make contact with a wall, it's like hitting quicksand. The nitrous does very little to assist you. However, when you get to the actual gameplay/driving mechanics, the 2/10 gets thrown out the window in my opinion. It's pretty straightforward with nothing too confusing. Also, grinding for parts is an absolute chore, I just spent the last hour just trying to get the Brakes (which was the last one I needed) and the game either wouldn't give me Brakes or it would give me one that is lower than mine, some of them were even purple and orange/yellow parts! I didn't even get anything good from the Icon gifts, actually two of them had tires that were lower levels than mine was! Really, who thinks this is fun game design? Or even good? Edited Octoby H!NO It gets VERY frustrating and infuriating at times, especially when you want to find a good race to grind for parts. My problem is with the game not being balanced at all, I played some events that my car was WAY better than the recommended, and still got absolutely destroyed! Some of the Hyper car events were SO EASY, while others I was getting rekt 1 minute into the race. Probably because I waited quite a bit to get a Hypercar, and got it eventually for a little less than a mil. Went with 4, even though I didn't struggle at all with the NY Hypercar, it was rather easy.
